ASCII RACE Is a semidoku site of a installation in an exhibition called "Toys n`Noise" in early 1999. It consisted of a console-GAME Interface, remote controlled cars, a live racing situation and live ASCII video stream. The concept was a evolving from a longtermproject for a mix between online controlled real objects, namly videocars and the transfer of images into a netspecifique aesthetics and datareduction. The result was a demo live site for participants in physical space and for participants in dataspace following the ASCII videotransfer.
